Self-Compassion
Anxiety isn't a character flaw. Talk to yourself the way you'd talk to someone you love.
Notice when you're blaming or judging yourself for feeling anxious — that only adds more weight to what you're already feeling.
Swap self-criticism for a gentle phrase, even if it feels strange at first. Your body responds to the tone you use with yourself.
Remember that feeling anxious doesn't make you weak, broken, or different — it's a response from your body, not a flaw in you.
If a friend were going through this, what would you tell them? Try telling yourself the same thing.
"I'm doing the best I can with what I have right now."
"This is hard, and it's okay not to handle everything today."
"I give myself the same care I'd give someone I love."
"This feeling will pass. It has before."
